Stephen Lovell grew up in Rochester Hills, Michigan. He attended Oakland University where he graduated with honors, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in History. Stephen then attended Wayne State University Law School. As a law student, Stephen was an intern for the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office in the Special Operations Unit and for corporate counsel at DTE Energy. Stephen also worked as assistant to the in-house counsel for Wild Bill’s Tobacco and as a Student Attorney in the Business Law Clinic where he provided crucial legal services to small businesses in Detroit.
After law school, Stephen began working for Kevin Ernst, a prominent civil rights attorney, in Detroit. Stephen is now a partner at Charara Lovell & Associates, PLLC handling a bevy of personal injury, employment, and civil rights cases. He has built his success within the firm on the personal relationships he develops with clients and his tenacity for helping those in need. Stephen is a strong believer in the renaissance and revitalization happening in Detroit and hopes to contribute the continued growth by battling discrimination and unequal treatment by officers and employers alike.
Stephen Lovell’s peers have taken notice of his success. He was named a Michigan Rising Star Super Lawyer in 2018. In 2019, Stephen followed-up on this accomplishment by being named a Rising Star Super Lawyer for a second year in a row.
